남원 신계리 마애여래좌상의 손상도 평가 및 보존처리

Conservation Treatment and Deterioration Evaluation of the Namwon Singyeri Maaeyeoraejwasang (Rock-Carved Seated Buddha Statue), Korea

초 록
남원 신계리 마애여래좌상은 엽리상화강암으로 구성되어 있으며 상부와 하부의 변성도 및 풍화도가 다른 것으로 확인되었다. 손상도 평가 결과, 상대적으로 변성을 많이 받은 불상의 상부는 하부에 비해 물성이 낮은 것으로 평가되었으며 손상요인 중 생물에 의한 훼손이 가장 심각한 것으로 분석되었다. 생물종에 따른 생물량(Chl. a)을 계산한 결과, 선태류는 2.3㎍/㎠, 엽상지의류는 1.1㎍/㎠, 고착지의류는 0.2㎍/㎠로 측정되어 생물량이 높은 순서대로 보존처리를 실시한다면 효과적일 것으로 분석되었다. 이상과 같은 손상도 평가 결과를 토대로 예비세정, 건식세정, 습식세정 순으로 보존처리를 실시하였다. 신계리 마애여래좌상의 장기적인 보존을 위해서는 향후 보존처리시 강화처리와 함께 주변환경 정비를 실시해야 할 것이다.

ABSTRACT
Namwon Singyeri Maaeyeoraejwasang (Rock-Carved Seated Buddha Statue) is composed mainly foliated granite and is different metamorphic grade and weathering degree on rock location. As the results of deterioration evaluation, upper part of the buddha statue was estimated that granularity decomposition was serious and rock strength was lower than lower part. Furthermore organism assessed most effect of among weathering factors. Chl. a amount of organism species were calculated 0.2㎍/㎠ of crustaceous lichen, 1.1㎍/㎠ of foliose lichen, 2.3㎍/㎠ of bryophyte. Organism was taken treatment in order of amount of Chl. a and pre-cleaning, dry cleaning, wet cleaning in sequence. It should be establish conservation plan that strengthening in consideration of lithology characteristics and setting in good condition environment to conserve long-term of Maaeyeoraejwasang.
