As an open access journal, the Journal of Conservation Science (JCS) will follow the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (https://doaj.org/bestpractice) developed by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

1. Website

The URL of official journal web site is http://www.e-jcs.org/.

The JCS team endeavors to make a good website. JCS website demonstrates that care has been taken to ensure high ethical and professional standards. It does not contain any misleading information, including any attempt to mimic another journal/publisher’s site.

2. Name of Journal

The official journal title is Journal of Conservation Science, the abbreviation of ISO is J. Conserv. Sci.

3. Peer Review Process

The JCS has on online submission and peer review system at http://submission.conservation.or.kr/.

All papers, including those invited by the Editor, are subject to peer review. A manuscript is first reviewed for its format and adherence to the aims and scope of the journal. If the manuscript does not fit the aims and scope of the Journal or does not adhere to the Instructions for Authors, it may be returned to the author immediately after receipt and without a review. Before reviewing, all submitted manuscripts are inspected by Similarity Check powered by iThenticate (https://www.crossref.org/services/similarity-check/), a plagiarism-screening tool.

  • • The journal uses a double-blind peer review process: the reviewers do not know the identity of the authors, and vice versa.
  • • Acceptance of the manuscript is decided based on the critiques and recommended decision of the reviewers. An initial decision will normally be made within 3 weeks of receipt of a manuscript, and the reviewers’ comments are sent to the corresponding author by e-mail. The corresponding author must indicate the alterations that have been made in response to the reviewers’ comments item by item. Failure to resubmit the revised manuscripts within eight weeks is regarded as withdrawal from the publication by author(s). If further revision period is required, author should contact editorial office.
  • • The corresponding author is notified as soon as possible of the editor’s decision to accept, reject, or request revision of manuscripts. When the final revised manuscript is completely acceptable according to the JCS format and criteria, it is scheduled for publication in the next available issue. Rejected papers will not be peer-reviewed again.
